Leigh was thrilled to work for the second time with director/choreographer Susan Stroman to create the role of The Girl in the Yellow Dress in Contact for the West End.
Contact won the Tony Award for Best Musical in 2000. It features three acts of dance, each in different settings and styles but all related to human relationships. The first act shows two men vying for the love of one woman in a French forest clearing sometime during the 18th century; the second act shows a woman fantasizing about escaping her verbally abusive husband while they sit in an Italian restaurant in 1950s New York; the third act shows a lonely Manhattan man enamored with and building up courage to approach a beautiful woman in a yellow dress.

Reviews
“Enter a Girl in Yellow. This is Leigh Zimmerman, tall, poised and sexy, with long legs to die for- even to die a long and lingering death for. She is a blonde: a blonde who, as my old friend Philip Marlowe used to say, could make a bishop kick a hole in a stained-glass window."
-John Peter – Sunday Times
“Leigh Zimmerman’s Girl in Yellow is loftily unapproachable. Her voluptuous presence sets the place and Praed’s character humming with erotic tension.”
-Nicholas de Jongh – Evening Standard
“…but what makes it all work is Leigh Zimmerman, as the Girl in the Yellow Dress, a blonde goddess with a five-star body and a personality to match.”
-The Times
“Leigh Zimmerman, the 6ft sexy former star of Chicago, sets the stage alight as the Girl in the Yellow Dress, a swing dance siren who feeds the fantasy of a suicidal television executive in the longest of the three pieces.”
-Michael Coveney - Daily Mail
“The man is literally danced back to the land of the living by this amazing sex bomb in yellow – and, believe me, the hugely tall Ms Zimmerman can move.”
-Daily Express
"Leigh Zimmerman is excellent as the golden goddess who taunts the men at the club with her sexual allure."
-LondonTheatre.co.uk
“…danced with sensational charisma by Leigh Zimmerman.”
-The Daily Telegraph
“Rescue comes via a dance hall and a Girl in a Yellow Dress, brought to life by the incredibly sexy Leigh Zimmerman.”
